August 1 each yearis the anniversary of the People's Liberation Army, also called the"August 1" Army Day. Its origin can be traced to 2:00 a.m. on August1st, 1927 at the front line Committee headed by Zhou Enlai and He Long, YeTing, Zhu De, Liu and other leaders of the 20,000 person Northern ExpeditionaryForce. Nanchang in Jiangxi province was held in an armed uprising and startedan armed struggle between the Communist Party of China and Kuomintangreactionaries.

General ['dʒɛnrəl] 上将

最高军衔，肩章为一麦三星。

Lieutenant General [lef'tenənt] 中将

仅次于上将，肩章为一麦两星。

Major General ['meɪdʒə] 少将

肩章为一麦一星。

Senior Colonel ['siːnɪə] 大校

肩章为两杠四星。

Colonel ['kɜːn(ə)l] 上校

肩章为两杠三星。

需要注意的是，不同的军种（ services）要用不同的英文单词来表示各级军衔。比如陆军和空军的上将可以称为 general，即 general of the army陆军上将， general of the air force 空军上将。海军上将有所不同，要用 admiral (of the navy) 来表达。

除此之外， 陆军和 空军的上校用 colonel来表达， 海军却要用 captain来表达确切的军衔，一定要注意区分哦~

B: 可以这么说吧。中国人民解放军建于1927年8月1日，所以每年8月1日定为建军节。中国人民解放军初期叫红军，后来又叫八路军和新四军。
